Know Your Rights
Everyone has rights, get to know yours!
The first line of defense against abuse is an informed and organized community. Scroll down to find tools and material to learn about and defend your rights in the United States.
The Basics

Many different types of rights protect all people in the U.S., some rights protect us at work, other rights protect us from unlawful arrests or searches, and still others protect our ability to speak out at a march or to look for work in a public place. Here we will focus on certain LEGAL RIGHTS that we ALL have, regardless of immigration status, to protect us when faced with ICE or police. This is not legal advice, it’s just information we should all have.

Organize and
Take Action

Knowing our rights is an important first step. But knowing our rights, without exercising them doesn’t work. We have to be connected with our neighbors, with local organizations, churches, or committees. That’s what it means to get organized, with your family and friends, your neighbors, or your co-workers.
